MEET OUR NEW WORSHIP MINISTER & HIS FAMILY

Dear First Baptist Portland Family,

It is with great joy and gratitude for God’s clear guidance and provision that we introduce to you our new Minister of Worship, Daniel Evans. Daniel comes to us with a rich background in ministry and a deep commitment to serving the Lord through music and worship.

As we welcome Daniel into our church family, we recognize the pivotal role of worship in our lives. Worship is not just a part of our service to God; it is the heart of our service. It is our corporate response to the goodness and grandeur of our triune God. It is both a personal practice and a collective expression, where we stand together to declare God's glory. It is our communal ascent to the authority of God’s Word and a shared affirmation and remembrance of His promises and faithfulness. As we lift our voices and hearts in worship, we are not merely singing songs or participating in tradition, but we are actively engaging with the truths of Scripture, allowing them to resonate through our lives and throughout our congregation. Worship matters.

Daniel has demonstrated a fervent passion for worship throughout his extensive experience, which spans over a decade. His tenure at various ministries has been marked by growth, both in himself and in the congregations he has served. His role in worship arts, pastoral leadership, FCA, and media has equipped him with a unique blend of skills that we believe will enrich our church and times of corporate worship.

He has earned a B.A. in Youth Ministry with a minor in Music from Union University. His experience at First Baptist Nashville as well as churches in Goodlettsville and Gallatin (most recently Interim Minister of Music at Trinity Baptist) showcases his ability to lead with skill, humility, creativity, and theological integrity, bringing together people of all ages in worship.

We are excited for you to meet Daniel and experience his leadership firsthand. We trust that his direction in our worship services will inspire us all to deeper faith and greater glorification of our great God and Savior.

As we embark on this new chapter together, let's commit to supporting Daniel with our prayers, participation, and encouragement.

Please join us in warmly welcoming Daniel and his family to our community.

Pastor Jacob
